The Importance of B.C.A. Course:

 

There has been unprecedented advancement in the field of Science and Technology during the last few decades. ‘Cyberspace’, ‘Internet’, ‘3-D Animation’, ‘Data Base Programming’ are a few of the terms which any literate person in today’s world is supposed to know, irrespective of his or her branch of learning.

 

The introduction of the B.C.A. Course in Veer Narmad South Gujarat University is a small step in the direction of computer education, which will expose the student to the realm of cyberspace. The students of this region had hitherto no facility of this course in Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. We are offering this course from June 2001 in order to meet with the need of the hour. Information for Admission

 

1. General :

1.1 Bachelor of Computer Application Course is a full time 3 year (6 Semesters) degree course offered by Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. Each year comprise of two semesters.

1.2 The admission to this course will be strictly on merit basis. This process is now online. The merit list of the applicants will be displayed on the university website www.vnsgu.ac.in   

2. Eligibility:

2.1 The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (12th Std.) Science(A or B Group)/Commerce from Gujarat H.S.C. Board or Senior School Certificate Examination 12th Std. Science(A or B Group)/Commerce from C.B.S.E. / I.C.S.E. Board

2.2 The candidate must have passed the above qualifying examination with English and must have obtained minimum 35% marks at above qualifying examination.    

3. Procedure followed by Admission Committee appointed by the university for the Surat city area colleges for admission in the First Year:

3.1 Admission to this course is given by Admission Committee formed by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University

3.2 Admission procedure is online for the first year students for this programme; students can register themselves by visiting website www.vnsgu.ac.in

4. Attendance:

Minimum attendance requirement is 80% of the total working days.

5. Parent Participation:

Father/Mother/Guardian of the candidate is expected to take personal interest in the applicant’s studies.

6. Evaluation:

(a) To get through an examination, the candidate must have obtained minimum marks in each subject as prescribed by the University. (Please refer to the teaching scheme given in the copy of the detailed syllabus, which can be obtained from the college library.)

(b) Candidates obtaining at least 90% or more but less than 99% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘O’ Grade i.e., Outstanding and Grade Point 10.

(c) Candidates obtaining at least 80% or more but less than 89% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘A’ Grade i.e., Excellent and Grade Point 9.

(d) Candidates obtaining at least 70% or more but less than 79% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘B’ Grade i.e., Very Good and Grade Point 8.

(e) Candidates obtaining at least 60% or more but less than 69% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘C’ Grade i.e., Good and Grade Point 7.

(f) Candidates obtaining at least 50% or more but less than 59% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘D’ Grade i.e., Fair and Grade Point 6.

(g) Candidates obtaining at least 36% or more but less than 49% of the aggregate marks will be awarded with ‘E’ Grade i.e., Average and Grade Point 5.

(h) Above standards are subject to prevailing university rules.

(i) Students are advised to refer the copy of the syllabus for the rules of examination, A.T.K.T., and award of class.

 7. Prevention of ragging:

In the light of the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court of India and as per directions of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Principal/Director, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if her explanation is not found satisfactory, the Principal/Director would expel her from the institution. We have created anti-ragging committee, anti-ragging squad and anti-ragging cell for the same.
